Using the Task Server with Web Access

Because tasks can be invoked from VBScript customization, they can be used for both Windows clients and Web Access. VBScript customization is executed by the Web Access module that runs as an IIS extension.

The Task Server and Web Access (IIS) need not be installed on the same computer, but the Web Access process must have sufficient privileges to connect to the Task Server via DCOM. This will depend on the user account used for Web Access.

Note    When Web Access is run with the IIS Application Protection option set to Low (IIS Process), it will run under a local user account by default. In this case, it will have no access to a remote Task Server.
